At the Igbinedion Education Centre we aim to provide a sound education for children from 3 to 18 years old. Our ultimate responsibility is for the development and welfare of each individual student and we endeavor to achieve this by providing an environment in which understanding, tolerance and friendship are fostered.
The school’s concept of a ‘sound’ education is characterized by our intention to pursue the following academic and personal objectives for all our students.
The housemasters, housemistress and matrons are assisted by a team of teachers, resident in site, with further support in the evenings and at weekends from day staff. The ratio of resident staff to boarding pupils is good, thus ensuring high standards of supervision and control.
In support of staff are the prefects who constitute an important element of support within the school, and perform their duties with seriousness and dedication.
The school does not make its responsibility lightly. Girls and boys are accommodated in separate boarding houses where they have complete privacy. The school seeks constantly to improve the provision it makes for the care and welfare of its pupils.
